A helping hand for Reuben’s Retreat

We were delighted to be asked to work with Reuben’s Retreat, a charity providing a retreat in the North West of England countryside that will relieve the distress of families and their close friends who have suffered the bereavement of a child or have a child suffering from a life limiting or life threatening illness.

“Some time ago we worked on a very significant project for our Retreat. Tucked away in a rural part of Glossop, visitors were struggling to find us. It was time to put some signage up. At Reuben’s Retreat, we approach everything a little bit differently and a sign was not for us, no ordinary sign anyway. We wanted something that would be fitting for our fine building, it needed to stand out and be a beacon for our services and support. We also wanted something that would depict our offering, being able to support families they best way we could, with the best facilities. Our entrance needed to look warm, welcoming and spectacular for our families. This is where the formidable team came in from Marchington Stone. Attention to detail was paramount from our team and after spending much time choosing the best possible stone, they set about cutting it to ensure it was perfect for us. Diligence was key and the team suffered at the hands of many stones that didn’t quite fit or look the part. Attentively they kept in touch with us and eventually the perfect stone was found. The carving is magnificent and expertly created. The care and attention at the delivery stage were paramount. On arrival, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Our entrance looks amazing and our families are welcomed warmly on arrival by the most splendid creation.
