Our Shire Hill Quarry produces an attractive Buff Derbyshire Millstone Grit; with excellent physical and mechanical properties, it has gained a reputation for being a high quality product that is specified for its own unique characteristics.
Projects throughout the U.K. have ranged from the Victoria and Albert Museum steps in London to the Olympic Mountain Bike Course at Hadleigh Park.
Our Block Stone is sawn to produce Paving, Ashlar and Walling Stone as well as other Dimensional Masonry products such Heads, Cills, Quoins and Lintels.
Shire Hill Stone is also ideal for Rockery and Walling stone, large feature Boulders and is approved for use by the Canal & River Trust, Environment Agency and the Peak District National Park as Rock Armour and Rip Rap for Scour Protection, Bank Stabilisation and as Pitching Stone for Moorland Footpath remediation. It is also crushed to produce construction aggregates, such as Gabion Stone and materials for footpaths, borders and gardens.
